On the surface, the Kong slot looks like a very good game and it is indeed very playable but there is something missing that stops it from being as good as something like the Gladiator slot or the best games in the Marvel slots series like the Fantastic 4. Can't really explain what that something is though.
Once again Playtech have come up with something innovative in Kong: you get to play in two different 'modes' which you switch between when 3 or more Kong logos appear. Each mode has it's own symbols and characteristics and even different free spin features.
In 'Jungle Mode', the free spin feature introduces sticky wilds while in 'Big City Mode' you get wild reels. In either feature you only get 3 free spins and there are no retriggers but some big wins are very possible as I have seen myself!
One thing Playtech have screwed up on with Kong is the bet sizes. It's fine if you bet low but once you get to $2, the gaps are way too big. You go to $5, then $10, then $20 per spin with nothing inbetween. Poor programming and now a feature of several of the newer Playtech slots which is a shame. But it doesnt really bother you in free-play mode obviously.
There are several movied-based slot games here at Free Slots 24/7 of which Kong is obviously one but it's not as good as Gladiator in my opinion although it does shade The Mummy slot in terms of the potential for decent wins, even if there aren't nearly as many features.
